The Sundarbans, part of Bangladesh, with an area of ​​1.5 sq km, is the world's largest sub-island, the longest saline wetland and a very important ecosystem rich in biodiversity. Due to all the features of Ramsar area as wetlands, Sundarbans have been declared as the 8th Ramsar area in 12 years. UNESCO declared Sundarbans as a World Heritage Site in the 7th century. The history of Sundarbans shows the existence of Sundarbans since ancient times. Historians believe that the Sundarbans originated in the Gangetic delta some 2,000 years ago.
